Meet Peter Nathaniel Lee

A writer on the way.

I’m an author, editor and writing mentor. I’ve spent much of my life following stories across countries, through difficult questions and onto the page.

The road to the page

Some journeys ask us to write.

Travel, love and writing have been the three constants of my life.

I joined the Royal Navy at sixteen, then spent years travelling and working in different corners of the world. Eventually I studied English and Creative Writing, but the book that changed my life began on foot.

After my father’s death, I walked the Camino de Santiago. That journey through grief and the kindness of strangers became Walk With Me, When Grief Passes Love Remains. It taught me how a story can carry both the truth of an experience and the possibility of change.

Since then I’ve continued to write, travel and work with other writers as they discover what their own books are asking of them.

Author · Editor · Mentor

Writing is craft, courage and attention.

For more than a decade I’ve helped writers develop memoir, fiction and nonfiction. I work with the architecture of a book—its structure, pacing, character and voice—and with the person trying to bring it into the world.

I believe in rigorous, kind feedback. The aim is to make the work stronger while keeping it unmistakably yours.
